01

Tours and trails

How long does a tour take and how do we get to the trail?

Hiking tours take about 3.5–4 hours on foot, with an off-road vehicle transfer from Jablanica to the trailhead — Velika Vitlenica, or Risovac for the alternative route.

How difficult are the trails?

The Jablanica – Hajdučka vrata (Outlaw's Gate) and Veliki Vilinac tours are moderate. The route via Risovac is moderate to challenging, includes one climb up a metal ladder and requires a good level of fitness.

What is the highest point?

Veliki Vilinac, the second-highest peak of Čvrsnica, at 2,119 metres.

Are there activities other than hiking?

Yes — kayaking on the Neretva and Lake Grabovica, a gentler ride through the canyon beneath Čvrsnica and Prenj. A good option for guests who want something more relaxed.

Where do the tours start?

All tours depart from Jablanica, and we drive to the trailhead by off-road vehicle.

02

Gear and preparation

Do I need my own gear?

For hiking tours you'll need hiking boots, a backpack, water and layered clothing. For anything else, ask Ajdin when arranging your tour.

How fit do I need to be?

For moderate tours, average fitness and being used to longer walks is enough. The route via Risovac requires a good level of fitness because of the ladder climb.

In which languages are the tours guided?

Bosnian and English. Ajdin worked as an interpreter for international missions for two decades, so his English is fluent.

What if the weather is bad?

The route is adapted to the weather. Ajdin will suggest an alternative or a new date — safety always comes first.
